Luce della Vite I.G.T 2020 Super Tuscan

Luce is the first wine to be produced from a blend of Sangiovese and Merlot in Montalcino.

It was thanks to the collaboration of the Marchesi de 'Frescobaldi and Robert Mondavi families that the idea of ​​associating the roundness and softness of Merlot with the structure and elegance of Sangiovese was born.

Since 2005 the responsibility has passed entirely into the hands of Lamberto Frescobaldi who continues to write the story of Luce, a Super Tuscan wine appreciated all over the world, dedicating himself to it with great passion and directing the production guidelines, from the vineyard to the creation of the blends of each vintage.

The climatic trend of the 2017 vintage saw a cool spring with adequate rainfall, followed by a hot and sunny summer, with low humidity and beneficial breezes that made the skies always clear and bright. The clayey soils, on which the Merlots are grown, have ensured an optimal water reserve for the vines, so as not to induce any water stress. The rains of mid-September allowed the Sangiovese to ripen perfectly. The wine we obtained has an intense ruby ​​red color, almost impenetrable. The nose shows intense hints of red fruit, a veiled presence of incense and spicy notes that give the wine an extraordinary complexity. On the palate, this aromatic complexity is found supported by an elegant tannic texture that gives the wine a unique structure and balance.
