If you love wine, then you will appreciate how important the vineyard's origin is in determining the quality and taste of the wine. The Villa Bianchi vineyard, located in the picturesque village of Cupramontana, is where the Verdicchio grapes for the Plenio are harvested by hand. The grapes are picked between the first and second ten days of October to ensure that they are fully ripe and of the highest quality.
The production process of the Plenio is carefully executed to create a balanced and flavorful wine. A combination of stainless steel tanks and barriques are utilized to ferment and age the wine. The temperature is controlled at 16-18°C for 10-15 days to ensure a consistent flavor and aroma. After fermentation, the wine is aged in barriques for about 12 months and then aged for an additional 6 months in bottles before being released into the market.
The Plenio is distinguished by its intoxicating rich yellow color with golden reflections. The aroma of the wine is fresh and penetrating, providing hints of ripe fruit that are complemented by pleasant notes of honey, bitter almonds, and aromatic herbs. The taste of the wine is velvety and rich, with a persistent finish that leaves behind an aftertaste of apple, plum, and almond.
This wine is the perfect accompaniment for various dishes. Due to its rich fruity and honey undertones, it is ideally paired with first courses and fish-based dishes. However, it can also be paired with white meats and roasts to enhance their flavor.
